Rosacea Symptoms, Triggers and Treatment

The appearance of a red face and acne like symptoms makes it a little more difficult to diagnose Rosacea. Rosacea sufferers have the same psychological and emotional scarring that afflicts acne sufferers. Rosacea just like acne is an embarrassing condition that causes many individuals to miss out on social activities and functions.

For many Rosacea sufferers, a breakout of Rosacea makes an individual to become very self-conscious of their skin's appearance. Over time, Rosacea has the ability to lower a person's confidence as they shy away from more and more social interactions.

What Causes Rosacea? The cause of Rosacea is not known but genetics seem to play a role in it's development as does a variety of environmental factors. The common symptoms of Rosacea include redness on the t-zone of the face (cheeks, nose, chin and forehead) which fluctuates with daily triggers such as certain foods, stress, and facial products.

Rosacea also brings the blood vessels to the surface of the skin making their appearance even more obvious. Small bumps and pimples tend to accumulate around the face which often confuses Rosacea with acne. Another symptom common to Rosacea sufferers includes watery eyes that become easily irritated.

Flushing of the skin is the main culprit in the onset of Rosacea. Many doctors hypothesize that the bacteria H. Pylori which is found in the stomach and is part of our intestinal system encourages the production of a specific hormone that encourages the flushing of the skin.

Rosacea Triggers: Medications like vasodilators (enlarge your blood vessels) help to bring on Rosacea in people who are predisposed to this condition. For women the onset of menopause and the associated hot flashes help promote Rosacea breakouts as the skin becomes flush with each episode.

There are certain foods that have been associated with encouraging a breakout of Rosacea as they cause the skin to flush. These include peppers like cayenne pepper, black pepper, red pepper and paprika. Alcohol and red wine cause the face to become flush and is also know to provoke Rosacea symptoms. Other foods like avocado, chocolate, soy sauce, cheese, and tomatoes are also listed as potential triggers for Rosacea sufferers.

Things To Avoid: Things to avoid in your effort to control Rosacea include expose to extreme weather elements, hot baths and showers, facial scrubbing and the use of rough wash cloths and towels, and astringents & exfoliators which can be rough on the skins surface.

Rosacea Treatment: While there is no cure for Rosacea there are ways to control Rosacea and it's frustrating symptoms. Many people believe that laser surgery is the only way to effectively control Rosacea. This is simply not the case. For many people laser surgery is not an option as the degree of their Rosacea does not warrant such an expenditure.

For most Rosacea sufferers, it's all about recognizing your triggers and taking steps to reduce or eliminate them from your daily life. The next best thing that all Rosacea sufferers can do is make a commitment to treat their Rosacea by taking care of their skin an incorporating a daily skincare regime that is specifically dedicated to treating Rosacea.

Lipodissolve Remains Nu U Medspa's Most Popular Procedure for 2008

Lipodissolve, mesotherapy, laser hair removal, Botox, Restylane, IPL, Photofacial, Acne treatment, Chemical Peel, skin tightening are among Nu U Medspa's specialties with Arizona locations in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa & Glendale AZ & Chicago locations in Skokie, Schaumburg, Naperville, Lincoln Park, Lakeview & Wicker Park, Illinois.

What is Lipodissolve?

Lipodissolve. is a non-surgical medical procedure that involves the injection of a compound called phosphatidylcholine into the skin to dissolve fat. Phosphatidylcoline (PPC) is a naturally occuring enzyme and is the main component of soy lecithin. Lecithin has been medically proven to have the ability to break down fat and reduce cholesterol. PPC has been used for fat removal and cellulite reduction by physicians for several years now as a safe non invasive alternative to surgical procedures such as liposuction. The compound is administered through a series of micro-injections to permanently dissolve the fat in unwanted areas. The compound is delivered directly into the subcutaneous fat through multiple microinjections administered over one to three treatment sessions spaced about six weeks apart. The treatment is meant to dissolve fat, which is removed from the body through normal waste removal. The desired end result is precise body contouring in localized areas. Although similar, lipodissolve is not to be confused with mesotherapy.

What is Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a minimally invasive, micro-injection technique used to treat patients for a variety of medical and cosmetic conditions. It was invented in 1952 by Dr. Michel Pistor, and is a procedure where medication is injected into the mesoderm, the layer of fat and connective tissue under the skin. In the U.S. the focus of this therapy is largely cosmetic treating such conditions as cellulite, spot fat reduction, rejuvenation of the skin and hair regrowth.

Newest Skin Care Treatments for Blackheads

Skin produces a variety of substances on a daily basis: sweat, sebum and even dead skin cells. In an ideal situation, the amount of sebum, or oil, produced by the skin is consistent. Unfortunately, overproduction of sebum is a common skincare woe, leaving a shiny layer of oil on the skin and, under the right circumstances, a blackhead. With a few additions to a daily skincare routine, anybody can keep current blackheads at bay and prevent new ones from forming.

Firstly, what causes this surge of excess oil? There are a variety of possibilities: excessively hot, humid weather, an overabundance of androgens (male hormones); also, a build-up of unexfoliated skin cells can add to the blockage.

The good news is that there are many treatment options for blackheads. Start with a daily cleanser that is targeted for oily skin. Depending upon skin type, exfoliate at least once a week for dry skin, and 2-3 times a week for oily skin with a manual exfoliator.

For very oily, acne-prone skin, a second application of beta-hydroxy (BHA), or salicylic acid, can greatly improve the appearance of blackheads, as well as reduce their occurrence.

Manual extraction is another common remedy for blackheads. Extractions, normally done during a facial, are the forcible removal of the blackhead from the pore with an extractor -- a small pronged tool with loops on either end.

Chris Gibson, Author of the Book, "Acne Free in 3 Days," Believes Antibiotics are a Problematic Treatment Choice for Acne

Health experts say overuse of antibiotics has contributed to the rapid spread of MRSA. The public health concern of growing antimicrobial resistance is a prime reason 50% of dermatologists report cutting back on antibiotics to treat acne according to the Galderma Quality Report for Dermatology and Managed Care.

Chris Gibson, a holistic health and lifestyle coach and author of the book, "Acne Free in 3 Days," believes antibiotics are a problematic treatment choice for acne. He urges parents to be cautious when seeking an acne regimen that's safe and effective for kids.

Parents across the nation are worried by the seemingly rampant reports of Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) infections in schools across the nation. In recent weeks, a teenage boy has died and dozens of students have contracted the bacterial infection.

Health experts say overuse of antibiotics has contributed to the rapid spread of MRSA, once a problem confined primarily to hospital settings. The public health concern of growing antimicrobial resistance is a prime reason 50% of dermatologists report cutting back on antibiotics to treat acne according to the Galderma Quality Report for Dermatology and Managed Care.

On the surface, acne sufferers might feel frustrated, believing that their treatment options have narrowed. But holistic health experts say curbing the reliance on antibiotics is a step in the right direction for the millions of Americans who suffer from acne -- and to the general public in light of the prevalence of drug resistant bacteria.

Chris Gibson, a holistic health and lifestyle coach and author of the book, "Acne Free in 3 Days," believes antibiotics are a problematic treatment choice for acne. He urges parents to be cautious when seeking an acne regimen that's safe and effective for kids.

"You have your family doctor saying we don't want to over-prescribe antibiotics," says Gibson. "Then you take your teenager to a dermatologist and typically one of the first options has been antibiotics. With the drug-resistant 'super-bugs' in the news, no wonder parents are anxious. Just look at the numbers involved. An estimated 80% of teens have some acne, so imagine the volume of antibiotics being consumed if only a fraction of these teens get prescriptions."

The growing problem of drug resistance isn't the only drawback to antibiotics. Side effects are also a major concern. For example, antibiotics can upset the natural balance in your digestive track and stain your teeth.

"I can speak from experience about the side effects," says Gibson, who once suffered from chronic acne. "The digestive issues alone can create a major disruption to the balance of good bacteria in your body- the bacteria that your immune system needs to stay healthy."

Other medications such as Accutane have been the subject of lawsuits after being linked to heart, liver and bowel disease along with depression and suicide. Accutane, normally reserved as a drug of last resort for people with severe, cystic acne, is also known to cause birth defects. But many acne sufferers reach a point of desperation where they'd try just about anything to improve their skin.

After battling acne for 15 years and spending exorbitant amounts of money on different over-the-counter products and drug treatments, Gibson was still disappointed with the results. That's when he began researching and collaborating with his dermatologist to come up with an all natural plan that actually worked. He's acne-free to this day.

"When your skin has problems it means your system is taxed," says Gibson. "That's why you have to attack acne with a 'big picture' mentality and find the right balance for you. For people who've been suffering from acne for a long time, to see results in just three days is a mind-boggling experience."

Best of all, it's an experience that doesn't trade one set of health problems for another. To learn more about Chris Gibson's book and receive a free report on naturally clearing your skin, please follow through to the next link.

MenScience Announces Newest Addition to Men's Acne Treatment Line

MenScience , a leading men's skincare, grooming and nutritional supplement company, expands on its line of acne treatment for men with the addition of new Acne Therapy Lotion.

Formulated with a concentration of 3% Benzoyl Peroxide, Acne Therapy Lotion targets blemishes and reduce acne-causing bacteria on the skin's surface. Benzoyl Peroxide has been used extensively by skincare professionals and dermatologists to treat acne, but because it can often cause redness and dehydration of the skin, Acne Therapy Lotion also contains Green Tea, Allantoin, Panthenol and Urea. Each of these ingredients has been proven to possess moisturizing and water-binding properties, which helps balance irritation caused by Benzoyl Peroxide. This is especially relevant to men's skin care, as a recent MenScience survey concluded that 85 of 100 men polled discontinue use of an acne product if their skin condition appears to redden or worsen after first time usage.

Acne Therapy Lotion marks the second product to be introduced in the new men's acne treatment line, along with the Acne Spot Repair. While Acne Spot Repair is intended for immediate treatment of blemishes (due to the high concentration of 10% Benzoyl Peroxide), once blemishes have been controlled, Acne Therapy Lotion is recommended to prevent future outbreaks and repair acne-stressed skin. Application goes on invisibly and absorbs quickly into the skin.

Ulta Adds the Hottest New Acne Kit To All Of Its Stores

Ulta, one of the busiest skin care retailers in the US, has decided to add neaclear liquid oxygen acne kit to all of its stores by October 2007. The neaclear skin care products have been sold in all Ulta stores since 2006, and have consistently held 2 of the top 18 best selling skin care spots.

With this announcement, neaclear is continuing to expand its distribution in the U.S. mass retail market. Already regarded as one of the most clinically significant physician-strength skin care companies, neaclear is sure to seriously challenge the numerous acne skin care products sold through these venues. Breaking the vicious cycle of acne breakouts can be very difficult.

Neaclear's Liquid Oxygen Acne Kit combines powerful and successful treatments into a simple, daily regimen. The first of its kind, this simple regimen is clinically proven to help rid the skin of pimples, whiteheads, blackheads, redness and inflammation leaving patients' skin clear, smooth and healthy looking. This regimen is simple, easy to use, is less expensive, has less risk of local and systemic complications, does not cause excessive dryness, achieves longer-lasting results, is easily reproducible, and has a high rate of patient compliance.

Neaclear's newly release study provides a reasonable basis to claim that 86% of patients using neaclear's Liquid Oxygen Acne Kit for 6 weeks noted a greater than 95% reduction in the frequency of their acne breakouts (defined as at least two pimples). The medical study also concludes that neaclear's liquid oxygen acne kit promotes natural healing and controls the acne condition with safe, proven ingredients."

Neaclear is dedicated to being a physician strength skin care company," says Dr. Sam Speron, CEO and plastic surgeon. "Being a physician strength skin care company means that the products are of a much higher quality and have undergone much more research. Neaclear is proud to be one of the few physician strength skin care companies available today.

In today's market, there are many acne skin products that are making ridiculous claims. neaclear strives to be an ethical company that is not trying to mislead consumers or make any unsubstantiated claims. Neaclear is not claiming to cure cancer or make people look 80 years younger. We believe our acne line will continue the trend our company has started. We are proud to announce the Ulta Cosmetic acceptance as another great step because it is such a highly reputable company that will allow neaclear to now be taken even more seriously in the US marketplace."

Neaclear liquid oxygen skin care products are the latest craze in the medical and skin care communities. The media has consistently branded the neaclear skin care line "the ultimate anti-aging regimen." Among the biggest supporters are some of the biggest names in plastic surgery and dermatology.

Attacking Acne is More Than Skin Deep

Acne affects nearly everyone at some time in their life, with an estimated eighty percent of people experiencing breakouts. Murad's new line of acne products address factors involved in the causes of acne, including excess skin cells, excess oil, and bacteria, while simultaneously reducing redness and inflammation.

"Until recently, the only things available to treat acne were drying agents. People had no choice but to assault the inflamed area with benzoyl peroxide," says Howard Murad, M.D, dermatologist, CEO and founder of Murad, Inc. "This harsh approach simultaneously dehydrates, inflames, and irritates the skin, leading to more problems.

"Daily care begins with the Murad Acne Regimen, designed to reduce surface bacteria, gently exfoliate excess skin cells, provide necessary hydration, and instantly reduce inflammation. With a unique patented formulation, the Murad Acne Regimen provides relief for anyone suffering from acne and other acne-like conditions. According to Dr. Murad, there are many skin conditions that mimic acne, including keratosis pilaris, eczema, folliculitis and peri-oral dermatitis. All appear as red, inflamed bumps on the skin, and need to be treated with a non-irritating approach. "One of my goals in developing these products is to educate people about their skin," he says. "We need to address all of the factors which cause these red bumps. Many of my patients have problems that look like acne. Acne and similar conditions need to be treated systematically, by first addressing the cause. Leaving it alone, or drying it up, will not make it go away. Acne blemishes can scar the skin, not to mention one's self-esteem. I created these products to prevent this damage."

Skincare Industry Leader MED-ACNE.COM Announces Rollout of Innovative Acne Treatment Product Onto International Market

Daniel Les, president and CEO of Med-Acne.com, announced from the company's headquarters today the international roll out of an acne treatment product that previously has only been available on a more limited basis in select countries. With the announcement by Les, Med-Acne.com, through its Internet based retail outlet, is now making Kamille Zinci widely available to adults and young people alike who require acne treatment products.

"One of the groups of people that we are targeting are those men and women as well as teenagers who have not found any acne treatment to be particularly successful. Kamille Zinci, a product the originally was used by people seeking a reliable acne solution in Germany, works on ridding a person's skin of different bacteria that, if allowed to fester, aggravate and worsen an acne condition," Les explained. "Although we are making a special effort to reach out to those people who have problem acne, Kamille Zinci actually can be useful for people who do not have stubborn condition. It is formulated to resolve mild and moderate cases of acne as well as severe conditions."

Although acne is a treatable disease, research studies indicate that over 40% of those afflicted with acne do not obtain any type of treatment whatsoever. Research regarding the manner in which people of all ages respond to and treat acne reveals that:

- 11% will see a physician
- 20% will go to a skin care center
- 30% will use an over-the-counter medication from a drug store or pharmacy
- Over 40% will do nothing

"We feel that Kamille Zinci will be attractive to people who presently use no treatment at all for their acne," Les remarked. "Unlike some regimens that actually are rather complicated and time consuming, with Kamille Zinci, a person afflicted with acne has only to apply the treatment once a day before bedtime."

New Acne Treatment Line for Men

For the majority of men, acne flare-ups do not end with the teen years. Whether it's a lone pimple or a full-on breakout, acne is an irritating condition that plagues men throughout their lives. It's because of this that MenScience is launching a new acne line specifically tailored to men's skin. The first item to be introduced, Acne Spot Repair, utilizes a high concentration of the most prescribed acne treatment ingredient (Benzoyl Peroxide) to diminish bacteria on the skin's surface and reduce breakouts and blemishes within 24-48 hours from first use. Because the exfoliating qualities of this ingredient may cause irritation or redness, Acne Spot Repair also contains a combination of active ingredients (Green Tea, Urea, Allantoin and Vitamins A, C, E) prescribed by doctors to help repair inflammation and redness associated with acne. 10-Step Acne Treatment Program

Donna Tozzi, B.S.N., R.N., the founder of the Tozzi Institute, has launched a new section on her website for Acne Treatment - The 10-Step Regimen to clear up aging skin. Unlike other skin care regiments, The PoreStar Top 10 plan begins from within. Whether a lawyer, doctor, fast food worker or Mom, the skin is under constant attack. Sunshine, dirt, smog and other pollutants are constantly on the move to dame your skin. Most other skin care programs cover these dangers quite well. The difference with the Tozzi Acne Regimen is this - IT BEGINS FROM WITHIN.

While other programs concentrate on the outside, Tozzi gives equal importance to what is going on inside. Stress, diet, perspiration and emotional state can all have an effect on your skin condition. That is where the Tozzi Acne Regimen begins the battle.

Steps 1-3 - Visualize, Detoxify and Proper Nutrition - The first three steps of the PoreStar Top 10 involve steps you can take before you receive the Tozzi Skin Care Regimen. "Visualize" wearing revealing clothes without embarrassing acne. "Visualize" a "fearless" trip to the beach in the skimpiest of bikinis. Build your confidence. Steps 2 and 3 involve more visible lifestyle changes -Start the day with a healthy breakfast drink from Tozzi's line of nutritional supplements. "Detoxify" your body and release all the harmful toxins built up from a lifetime of saturated fat and processed sugar. Then begin the third step, "Practicing Proper Nutrition." Did you know that by improving ones nutrition one can eat less food? This produces less harmful chemicals for your body to expel thereby creating acne.

Steps 4-5 - Manage Stress and Exercise - Managing stress and adhering to a regular exercise regiment is easier to say than to do. After just a few weeks of following a schedule, one will be surprised how much better one feels and look. Stress causes your pores to overload with waste, thus increasing the chance for unsightly breakouts. Proper exercise increases the blood flow and aids in the removal of impurities in your body that can lead to bad skin.

Step 6-9 - Cleanse Skin, Wash the Face- Make it a habit to cleanse the face every morning with PoreStar 10 % Facial Wash with Aloe Vera. Cleaning the face regularly helps prevent oily residue, a breeding ground for pimples. If you plan to spend a good portion of the day enjoying Mother Nature and all she has to offer, consider using PoreStar' Dual-action Moisturizer with SPF 30. In addition to washing ones face when a person wakes every morning, clear away the day's grime before bed each night. PoreStar's Lucky Charms gly- sal ance pads allows the skin to breath. It removes the oily buildup and impurities denying acne a place to breed. And get your sleep. Adequate rest does wonders for reducing the stress.

There is nothing that makes a body feel younger and more vibrant than clearer skin. So why not choose the method that clears the skin from the inside out.
